Yesterday we started a series that will be profiling the ten best Oktoberfests in the United States, as determined by AOL Travel. See yesterday’s post for a rundown of the “Zinzinnati” Oktoberfest in Cincinnati, OH. Today we profile the Oktoberfest in Helen, GA:
The festival in Helen is not the largest Oktoberfest in the United States, but they’re celebrating their 40th anniversary this year so the party should be rocking! Situated within a valley tucked away in the Appalachian Mountains, Helen recreates the feel of a real alpine village. From Sept. 9 (tomorrow!) through October head to the city’s Festhalle to partake in the party; with German-style brass bands and accordion-players belting out perky polkas this is one of the best Oktoberfests in all of the United States South!
We at OktoberfestHaus.com just received our first shipment of the official 2010 Oktoberfest Beer Steins. Why not take that with you to Helen? Whatever you take, if you go to any of these festivals make sure you tell us about it by leaving a comment at blog.OktoberfestHaus.com or on our website!
Prost!
Bradley
I’ll be gone tomorrow so we’ll have a double-header on Friday: San Francisco, CA, and Fredericksburg, TX.
