Best of Oktoberfest in the U.S. – Parts 3 & 4

Did anyone attend the start of Oktoberfest in Helen, GA, which we profiled in Part Two of this series?  If so, tell us about it! Continuing with our series of the ten best Oktoberfests in the United States, as deemed by AOL Travel, we have a Friday Doubleheader: San Francisco, CA, and Fredericksburg, TX.

First, San Francisco:

Pier 48 is the location for this sunny Oktoberfest;  it’s right on Mission Bay and across from AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants!  From Sept. 23-26, get your fill of German beer, German sausages, and German frauleins. Celebrating in the true tradition of Munich’s famed festival, Oktoberfest by the Bay will include nonstop music, singing, dancing, and the very best in German food and drink.  Headlining the stage will be the world renowned, 21-piece Chico Bavarian Band!  Don’t miss out on the fun; dance the day away in one of OktoberfestHaus.com‘s large selection of German dirndls, and make sure you get your very own official Oktoberfest 2010 German beer stein.  We just got them in stock and they’re already flying off the shelves; get yours before they’re gone!

Fredericksburg, Texas:

The Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year so the atmosphere should be especially festive for the three days of the festival, October 1-3.  Founded in 1846 by the Society for the Protection of German Immigrants in Texas, the town of Fredericksburg has a long history of German heritage.  With family-oriented entertainment, beer halls, wine-tasting areas, and bands that go by the names of TubaMeisters, Oma and the Oompahs, and the Polkamatics, this Oktoberfest celebration is sure to be a rocking good time!  This is the perfect festival to dress up your son in an Alpine Boy Lederhosen costume, or your daughter in a Little German Girl dirndl.  If you’re feeling left out, BuyOktoberfestCostumes.com has a large selection of Oktoberfest men’s costumes, and Oktoberfest women’s costumes as well!  Plus, Fredericksburg is in the heart of Texas wine country; if you get sick of beer and want a little wine to go with your German sausage, check out one of our sister sites: StemlessGlasses.com, which has the largest selection of stemless wine glasses available anywhere on the internet!

Monday will feature Part 5 of our series, in which we will profile Soulard, St. Louis, MO.

Until then…
Prost!
