The Mount Angel, Oregon, Oktoberfest started today! We’ve already mentioned it twice on our blog: Check out our posts titled Can’t Make it to Germany this Fall? and Dancing in Dirndls. Running for three days in a row, the Oktoberfest in this small town features more than 30 musical groups and all the beer you can drink. Nestled in the Oregon heartland, about 40 miles south of Portland, this Oktoberfest draws 350,000 people to a town of only 3,000. The small community was settled by German pioneers in the 1800s and readily reminds one of the rich Bavarian countryside. Get your oompahs slapping and your dirndls waving now, before the festival’s over. While you’re at it, check out this Grey German Oktoberfest Alpine Hat–it’s been one of our best sellers over the past couple weeks and will continue to be a hot item this Oktoberfest season.
Tomorrow we conclude our series with another Friday double-header: Denver, CO, and Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, (Yes, Ontario is not in the United States, but it does have the largest Oktoberfest in North America), all in anticipation of the official Oktoberfest Munchen starting Saturday! Get all your Oktoberfest Merchandise at OktoberfestHaus.com, including the Official 2010 Oktoberfest Ceramic Steins.
