Yes, the beer boot market hit its zenith in 2006 with the release of Beerfest movie. College kids couldn’t get enough of them. We started our humble business selling these boots on eBay and have grown into the largest seller of beer boots online. Along the ways, we’ve loved the customer response to our every increasing portfolio of Bavarian and German goods.

Beer boots, however, did not start with the movie. Here’s a little history on the great German tradition. Most accounts of beer boot origins go back to the German military last century. The first origin story is that World War I German soldiers passed around a leather boot of beer before heading into battle. Soldiers would flick the combat boot before drinking from it for good luck and then again after drinking to wish next soldier good luck. A second origin story suggests that a Prussian general swore to his troops that he would drink beer from his boot after victory in the coming battle. After winning the battle, the general ordered that a glass be crafted in the shape of his boot to fulfill his promise. Thus the glass boot was born.
